About the Event
An intimate conversation on how purpose plays into your everyday relationships (romantic, platonic, professional).
Led by #dayofpurpose Ambassador Surabhi Lal.
"I savor my craft as a manager, educator, coach, and mentor. I have been a translator between worlds ever since I can remember. My summers in India contrasted with my life in suburban DC and exposed me to issues of inequity, which instilled in me a strong sense of service. Being an only child and a first generation American gave me the desire and skills to connect with and understand others. My career began helping students with their transition from high school to college, and for the past fifteen years I’ve sat at the intersection of conversations with job seekers and employers in social impact. I am passionate about developing talent and creating thriving cultures for individuals and teams and have worked in nonprofit, education, start-up, and international settings. As the Head of Program Development and Learning at Luminary I curate workshops and experiences that encourage learning, growth, and community. In addition, I am an adjunct professor at NYU Wagner and sit on the board of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work. To feed my creativity I travel, explore food markets, dance in the kitchen, cook, and (most importantly) eat."
