About the Event
This fitness class will focus on reconnecting our health to our higher purpose. We will pair strength, cardio, & core circuits with a social happy hour discussing & connecting our why to our health & movement.
Led by #dayofpurpose Ambassador Gerard "Coach G" Burley.
Gerard Burley, more affectionately known as Coach G, hails from west side of Baltimore City and is the founder and owner of SWEAT DC, a boutique finest studio housed in DC’s robust Petworth/Columbia Heights neighborhood. Coach G is known for his unique approach on fitness. He believes working out should be inclusive, challenging, inspirational, and fun.
Coach G has more than 15-years experience in exercise sports science. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in Exercise and Health Promotion from Cal U Pennsylvania.
As a spokesperson on health and wellness, he is frequently called upon for media appearances and has been featured, quoted, and interviewed in outlets such as Bravo’s Real Housewives of Potomac, Fox News, ABC, CBS, and Washingtonian Magazine.
As a thriving entrepreneur, he has lent his expertise to speak for organizations including Yelp, Washington DC Economic Partnership, financial consulting firm Deloitte, for a holiday show at the Kennedy Center and more.
As a true neighbor and contributor to his surrounding community, Coach G also serves on the board of the DC Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health, and Nutrition and on the board for PFLAG, an organization committed to advancing equality for LGTBQ families.
In 2018 he was named an ambassador for MLB All-Star Weekend Color Run with Nike, Fitbit Local DC and Summer Sweat, a destination fitness event in Martha's Vineyard with Women's Health Magazine.
